Tax Preparation Process – The virtual office
With the advent of Covid and the emergence of new “work from remote” trend, at Gauseo we are utilizing tools of electronic commerce to provide our clients with convenient and efficient tax preparation processes. We conduct meetings in Zoom, doing client communication through email and messaging, and collecting documents using our secured website uploads. When it’s time for filing, we do electronic filing (e-file) to the IRS with authorizations from clients through e-signatures.
All on-line environment allows minimal disruption to our client’s routines. And rest assured, face-to-face meetings are always available when necessary.
A typical cycle of our tax preparation process is as followed:
- We will connect with you for the initial consultation through phone, messaging, or in person. The meeting is to discuss your tax situation, the current tax year considerations, what documents are needed, and how to proceed.
- You will provide the necessary documents (review the document checklist in above) through computer uploads, or emails, or smart phone messaging.
- Note: you can register as a user on our website and securely upload the documents from there.
- We will do the initial tax return preparation, and will iterate with you through emails, phone calls, or messaging to resolve any issues.
- When your tax return is complete, we will send you an email with instructions to e-sign the federal e-file authorization form. This will allow us to electronically file both your federal and state returns. When the e-file is done, we will send you the link to access the electronic copy of your tax return. We also can provide a hard copy of your return upon request.
